Pelli Cha takes the utmost care throughout all stages of sourcing and production to ensure that business operates in a socially and environmentally ethical way, benefiting each community we touch. Silks are sourced from rural communities in India where Peace Silk is grown and produced without harming the silkworm. Textiles are woven in clean and healthy environments, using artisanal methods that have been in place for hundreds of years. Our dyes are made from natural extracts- sourced from indigenous villages in Latin America and all over the world. By supporting these groups they are made self sufficient and are able to keep their ancestral lands and preserve their cultures.
In the United States, the mentally and physically challenged are employed to aid in the actual dying and sample making process. Whenever we print, it is with low-impact methods. We don’t just care about the environment- we have a strong sense of GLOBAL community- and we want to benefit those who need it most, at home and abroad. We give empowerment and honor to others. We pay Fair Trade Premiums.
Pelli Cha also donates a set percentage of sales to select organizations who focus on environmental conservation, and are directly involved in the aid and development of the communities in which we do business.
